In this case, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Washington certified to this court the issue of whether, and on what standard of proof, an employee who was wrongfully terminated from employment in violation of public policy is entitled to recover damages for emotional distress. We hold that, having once established liability for the tort of wrongful termination of employment in violation of public policy, an employee is entitled to recover damages for emotional distress upon a showing of actual anguish or emotional distress.
